How big are giant pandas?
Adult male pandas usually weigh about 85 to 135 kg (190 to 300 lbs) although they may be heavier. Females weigh about 70 to 100 kg (155 to 220 lbs). Captive pandas are usually heavier than wild ones because of the nature of their diet. Males tend to be about 10% more massive than females and have wider muzzles and stronger forelegs. An average adult giant panda stand about 0.9 m (3 ft) tall at the shoulders and is 1.4 to 1.8 m (4 to 6 feet) long.
