Generally, college-level courses completed at an accredited institution will transfer, provided that the grade earned on the course is equivalent to a “C-” or better. The course must also be similar in content and rigor to a course offered here at Cornell. CALS must receive an official copy of a transcript from the offering institution in a sealed envelope in order for the credit to be accepted. Accrediting bodies include the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; New England Association of Schools and Colleges; North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges; Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

USF generally accepts all college-level courses completed at regionally-accredited institutions for transfer as fulfilling major, core, or elective classes. Regional accrediting bodies include the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; New England Association of Schools and Colleges; North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges; Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and Western Association of Schools and Colleges. No other accrediting organizations are recognized by USF, nor are credits accepted for transfer from unaccredited institutions. All credits designated as transferable to the California State Universities (CSU) by the California Community Colleges will transfer to USF with the exception of remedial math and English.
