What is the difference between toad and frog?
There are several differences between these Amphibians. The three most obvious (in most cases) are: 1. The skin of a Frog is smoother, while the skin of a Toad usually has bumps or knobs or a somewhat granulated surface. 2. Toads have large Perotid Glands just behind the eyes above the ears, while Frogs do not. These glands are larger in the males than the females and contain fluid that can cause irritation or even death to any predator that grabs them. 3. Frogs live in or very close to a water source, while Toads can live away from water, under fallen leaves, or even in the desert, as long as they stay moist in humid surroundings. They then only need a water source for reproduction.
