Help! what kind of bird?
Are you sure the bird isn’t a fledgling (fully feathered)? Fledglings will leave the nest before they can fly. This is normal. Go put the bird back, preferably in a shrub or bush. The parents will not abandon the fledgling because you touched and got your human scent on it. Birds have a horrible sense of smell. A LOT of people mistaken fledglings for injured, or abandoned, and most of the time they are wrong. You can watch the nest from far away to see if the parents come. Watch the fledgling very closely for at least about two hours. The parents visits can be secretive and quick. If you do not see the parents for at least two hours, then take it to a wildlife rehabilitater. http://wildliferehabber.org http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.… http://www.wil
