Where did Beaver and the Cleavers live?
The Cleavers lived in Mayfield. There are Mayfields in Caifornia, Kansas, Kentucky , Michigan, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Utah. Assuming that Mayfield wasn’t in California because a phone call Beaver made to Don Drysdale was horrbly expensive, and assuming that we can eliminate Ohio, because one episode explicitly stated that June Cleaver’s family was from Ohio (an odd statement if you are living in Ohio), that leaves Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Dakota, Pennsylvania. If we further assume that the ocean was prohibitively distant, we can scratch off the two Mayfields in New York state. Harsh winter weather was never in evidence, so we can take Michigan and North Dakota out of the running. The terrain was wrong for Utah. Nobody spoke with a Southern accent, so we can rule out Kentucky. All of which leads me to conclude that the Cleavers probably lived in Pennsylvania or Kansas. But Kansas actually has a Grant Avenue school. does that help?
