Is darts a sport?
Yes. Darts requires a PHYSICAL skill in order to achieve an objective, the same as bowling, football, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, race-car driving, running, and all other sports. The competitor MUST be the one making the moves in these sports; nobody else can do it for them. (S)he is the one propelling the dart to a desired location using skill. The result depends on the competitor’s physical skill. In non-sports, the competitor does not necessarily have to be the one making the physical moves. For example, take poker and chess, which aren’t sports because no PHYSICAL skill is necessary; the competitor does not have to be the one physically moving the pieces, flipping the cards, and moving the chips. Another person can do those things for the competitor (from verbal or written instructions), and the result will still be the same. The result does NOT depend on the competitor’s physical skill.
