You need a license to buy or have tranquilizers in your possession in the USA…It’s a Controlled substance Use a rat trap and be done with them. You have a good chance of being bit or scratched while trying to release them if you haven’t had prior experience, and then it’s off for a series of rabies shots [I had these, they’re not fun] PS I’ve never seen a trap that cuts a leg off, they are designed to “hold” an animal, not mutilate it.
