Whats With Boxing?
I am sure there are many other great boxing letdowns as well as all other sports but take a minute to look at this difference of opinion from a woman. Amateur boxing is the only olympic sport which is affordable to at risk youth, boys and girls, who could never afford a sport with the same opportunities such as ice skating or gymnastics. Joining a boxing gym and training and competing for a year cost less than $50.00 and includes insurance.The road to Olympic greatness starts at age 8 in boxing. This sport (amateur boxing) is statistically safer than football, basketball and yes…even cheerleading. Athletes involved in the USA Boxing program are required to maintain a certain grade level and must train with certified coaches prior to competing in the sport. Participants are exposed to volunteers (coaches, judges, referees) who care and dedicate their time for free to run boxing shows and clubs.
