How do you become an olympic archer?
Nothing is impossible. I know this guy who just started archery and now he’s in the Olympic shadow team. One of the US team member for the 2004 Olympics actually never pick up an Olympic style bow until very near the time to qualify. First of all you need to be a member of the national governing body for archery in your country. Then you need to get very good, this also depends on what country you’re from. The US has a rather strong male team, the female on the other hand is not as strong. So depending on country the competition might be stiff or easy to get to the top. This is how it works here in the US, the year before the Olympics there are trials going on, we just had a trial back in August that will cut down to the top 16 competitors. That trial was open to anyone who can shoot a certain qualifying score(1200 is the magic number here in the US).
