How long has astrology been around?
Astrology is known to be as old as mankind with some experts identifying the very first records extending back as early as 5800 B.C. Like other intelligence that developed concurrently among separate cultures around the globe, scholars believe that different civilizations developed the study of astrology independently of one another. The Chaldeans of Babylonia, Mesopotamia (now Iraq) created one of the original forms of astrology in 3000 B.C. while, at the same time, Mayan astrology advanced in Central America and Vedic astrology evolved in ancient India. The Chinese are know to have practiced astrology as early as 2000 B.C. and Tibetan astrology has its own lineage. The writings of Pythagoras and Plato indicate that astrology had turned up in Greece by 500 B.C. And later, Arabic cultures of North Africa and the Eastern portion of the Mediterranean were using astrology in the 8th century.
